Father Hudson’s 113th Charity Ball

Join Father Hudson’s Care on 18th February 2017 at the National Conference Centre for their 113th Charity Ball.

The date is set, the band is booked and preparations are well underway to make Father Hudson’s 113th Annual Fundraising Ball better than ever. So make sure you save the date and book your tickets for an evening of celebration in aid of not one, but two good causes.

The Marmites

Local band The Marmites return to rock into the early hours following their great success at 2016’s event. Jimmy Spencer and his team of volunteers are back with the ever-popular tombola. And there will be the usual three-course dinner, dancing, raffle and games, ensuring a great evening is had by all. The Ball returns to the popular venue – the National Conference Centre, Birmingham.Get in touch today to reserve your tickets or book a table. Tickets cost £39.50, or £35.00 if you are 30 and under. You can also book a table for your entire party. We can offer tables of 8, 10, 12 or more. To book your tickets, call Ginny Cullen on 01675 434015 or email fundraising@fatherhudsons.org.uk.

2017’s Ball will raise funds for New Routes Fostering and Young at Heart.

New Routes provides fostering placements to children and young people in and around Birmingham who are unable to
live with their birth families. With the Ball’s help they want to provide more educational, health and personal development opportunities to the children and young people they help.

Young at Heart reaches out the hand of friendship to vulnerable and extremely isolated older people in North Staffordshire. Older people are supported to attend one of four regular friendship groups where they can make friends, take part in various activities, exercise, and get support and information. Without Young at Heart many wouldn’t see a friendly face from one week to the next.

With two projects to support we want to make the 113th Ball the best ever. We know we can do it with your help.

Come along to help raise funds for these two brilliant projects. You can also help by donating prizes for the raffle and tombola, to help boost the proceeds on the night. All prizes are gratefully received and can be delivered to St George’s House, Coleshill.

If you would like to support the ball, you can also make a donation on the Ball Committee’s JustGiving page or by sending a cheque payable to ‘Father Hudson’s Ball’ to Ginny Cullen, Father Hudson’s Care, St George’s House, Gerards Way, Coleshill B46 3FG.

Pop-up Christmas Cinema at Coleshill Town Hall

Bear Paw Productions will be bringing back some cinema magic in the lead up to Christmas 2016. Throughout December we will be screening some of the most loved Christmas film at Coleshill Town Hall.
The Town Hall will be transformed into an amazing venue based on the theme of each film. Every evening will bring a little piece of Christmas magic and we would love you to be a part of it.

Events are being held each evening on the following dates:
Friday 2nd December – The Chronicles of Narnia; The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe (raising money for Make-A-Wish UK)
Friday 9th December – Elf (raising money for Birmingham Children’s Hospital)
Friday 16th December – Love Actually (Raising money for British Heart Foundation)
Friday 23rd December – The Polar Express (Raising money for Air Ambulance)

Doors open at 6.30pm with the film starting around 7pm.

For the last 2 screenings Coleshill Town Band will be playing traditional Christmas carols and you take your seats to add a little more magic to your night.

Food & drink will be available to purchase on the night, including mulled wine, beer, hot chocolate, red & white wine, Bailey’s, popcorn, sweets, mince pies, gingerbread biscuits etc.

The Chronicles of Narnia – The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe (PG)

Our first screening follows the magical story of Lucy, Edmund, Susan and Peter in ‘The Chronicles of Narnia – The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe’. Be prepared to wonder through our very own wardrobe full of fur coats into a winter woodland scene. Inside you’ll be able to dress up as some of the characters at our very special photobooth, grab a delicious hot chocolate and a bag of homemade popcorn, then find your seats among the snow.

Elf (PG)

The brilliant comedy ‘Elf’ staring Will Ferrell and Zooey Deschanel will be shown on our big screen this December. Don’t be a cotton headed ninny muggins and miss out on tickets for this one. Just like Buddy we can’t help but make amazing amounts of decorations for Chirstmas. So Coleshill Town Hall will be covered in paper snowflakes, giant sweets and Christmas trees.

Love Actually (15)

Christmas wouldn’t be the same without watching the stories of eight very different couples in the lead up to Christmas Day. ‘Love Actually’ is the must see romantic comedy of the season. Coleshill Town Band will be playing some traditional carols as you collect your tickets, purchase some snacks and find your seats in the snow. It’s going to be a festive night for couples, friends and family.

The Polar Express (U)

Finally our festive season will end with a magical journey to the North Pole on ‘The Polar Express’. So get your pyjamas and onesies at the ready as we discover the sound of the Christmas bells and remember to never stop believing!

All the fun of the fair

Football refers to a number of sports that involve, to varying degrees, kicking a ball with the foot to score a goal. Unqualified, the word football is understood to refer to whichever form of football is the most popular in the regional context in which the word appears.
